Logical Framework Approach (LFA)
Managers and staff of international and national organizations particularly managers, team and project leaders, staff members and consultants who are involved in international development cooperation and who want to learn how to plan and organize projects using the internationally accepted Logical Framework Approach, which is widely considered as a standard planning approach in the international donor community and many government organizations worldwide. The Logical Framework Approach (LFA) offers a “toolbox” of instruments and procedures to operationalize and apply Results-Based Management (RBM).
Results-Based Management (RBM) is a broad management strategy aiming at improving management effectiveness and accountability by
RBM focuses on achievement of expected results: outputs, outcomes and impact throughout the management process. Thus it is a move away from input-based or activity-based management. RBM is intended to improve both accountability and management effectiveness and could be applied at corporate, project/programme and country level. RBM is the management approach of the UN and provides as well guidance to many bilateral donors and implementing agencies, including GTZ.
After the completion of this training program, the participants
The training programme follows a practice-oriented approach that incorporates theory presentations, practical application (exercises) based on case studies that are derived from the participant’s projects. The programme includes as well the chance for field visits to a development project in Thailand where the participants can experience how development strategies are practically implemented. Thus the chance to exchange practical experiences with other practitioners and to confront theoretical learning with the reality of project implementation is offered.
